ESTABLISHMENT OF VERMONT LOTTERY
The Vermont Lottery Commission was established in the midst of the 1977 session of the General Assembly, according to the Public Act No. 82. In the legislation that enabled this lottery, the written purpose of the VT lottery and the reason behind its creation was to “produce the maximum amount of net revenue consonant with the dignity of the state and the general welfare of the people.”
IMPORTANT MILESTONES
On Valentine’s Day, 14th February 1978, to be specific, Green Mountain Game’s first ever ticket went on sale. This was a game which offered weekly draws. Following this, almost four months later on June 20, 1978, Scratch ‘N Match (Vermont’s first instant ticket game) sold its ticket. Two years later on 10th November, 1980, Pick 3 was launched as the first online VT lottery game.
FUNDING
All benefits created with regards to the VT lottery numbers were devoted for utilization by Vermonts General Fund, from February 1978 to July 1998. Then, it was ordered by the VT Legislature that all benefits created and achieved by the VT lottery should go to Vermont’s Education Fund.

Each game of Gimme 5 costs one dollar. All you need to do is pick 5 numbers from 1 to 39 and check the winning numbers.
In Lucky for Life, you choose 5 numbers from 1 to 48, then 1 Lucky Ball number from 1 to 18 of your choice.
