About Rhode Island (RI) Lottery

ABOUT RHODE ISLAND LOTTERY (RILOT):

Contrary to popular belief, Rhode Island, which is the smallest state of the Unites states of America, has not been left behind when it comes to lottery gaming. In fact, Rhode Island lottery, or Rilot as we commonly know it now, is actually one of the best in that country.

With the launch of the RI lottery in 1974, when the first ticket was sold for 50 cents, and then later drawn at the State House, Rilot has been incredible for the state of Rhode Island. RI lottery results have changed the fates of many residents, such as Sheila Botelho, who was 2007’s lucky winner in RI Powerball as she won $151,900,000.

Rilot is also behind the launch of Lotto, which is the first ever Lottery Show on TV. The top prize of this action game and fun TV show was $25,000, and tickets were $1 with weekly drawings.

Rhode Island Lottery is also a founding member of the Multi-State Lottery Association (MUSL), which was formed so that smaller states could have the chance to offer bigger prizes. It is also the first state lottery which began to sell tickets of the game Powerball.
